The aim of this project was to imitate japanese paintings.
The garden is built up from three basic elements. The growing is based on certain algorithms, but each time accidental. The location of the elements are controlled by simple composition rules.

This was my diploma work at the Moholy Nagy University of Design at 2007. The Installation is dealing widt the connection of natur, human, reality and virtual reality. The interaction is very simple, the plant closes its wings if someone moves close to it. It plays width the contrast of action and observation. The key to understand the installation is "silence".

I created this collection during my study in Rotterdam. The aim was experiment with different emotions. I found this digital pen very easy to express human emotions, gestures.

Made with Processing + Sonia Sound Engine

Reflexes are reactions onto a certain stimulus. The program was denominated “Reflex” because it responds to sound waves with motion – it has more than twenty different alternatives for visualizing sound. These can be freely composed thus obtaining a much higher number of image variations. There are two groups of surfaces. The first group contains indicators basing on audio physics. In this case it is the sound wave or the spectrum, obtained through FFT transformation, which appear graphically. The second group bears the name Macro, in which an imaginary world – seen through a microscope – appears. The tiny creatures revive through sound. Their motion and its pattern correlate to the different features of the sound. If there is no sound, life stops – if there is sound they start to move about or swim jointly between the frameworks of their virtual territory. The program can be used with live music, through the help of an external microphone enabling a visual background of live performances.

This program is part of an interactive installation. By talking or singing into the microphone letters pop-up from the ground and after a while they fall back. High sounds (for example: whistle sounds) start to float and raise and make the letters leave the screen. In this installation we are using a sound-processing program (PD), wich repeats the parts of the words, arrange them into a composition. Returning sounds creates repeated movements in the group of letters.

Spectrofon is a video work wich I've created using a custom made software. The whole video was recoreded in real time, no post processing. The basis of the program is the splitting of incoming sound into ranges. Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) is most suitable for this task. After splitting the incoming signal into frequency ranges, the program is able to visualize these graphically. This process can be done in both ways, converting sound to image, and image to sound are both possible. I also used some sound samples wich had been generated from still images. The generated montage is build up from the texture of distorted images and the rythm of the abstract music.
