An interactive installation to tell the story of Jesus, based on Albrecht Dürer's woodcuts.

Concept: The challenge was to tell a well known story in a different, playful way. By using the brilliant graphics of Dürer, it brings another educational layer in the field of view. The installation using real-time animation which can be controlled by the visitor, using a very simple and intuitive interface.

The base of the motion is a 2D physics engine wich gives unique motion each time based on the user's guestures. These rigid "bones" seamlessly morph the underlying images. (The base of this technique was developed in the opensource animata engine)

These interactive layers then composed in a 2.5d (parallax) space, giving the illusion of depth.

The interaction is achieved by a custom interface. A rotary encoder and an arduino was built in a wooden case, giving a user a very unique tangible experience.
