alpha. (reactive garden)

Closure of the visitors disturbs the meditative state of the garden. If someone steps inside her aura, she reacts with sudden noise, breaking the inner lifecycle.

The installation is made of wood, sand, stones, electronics and digital content. A camera is watching the aura of the garden from above, placed nearby the projector. They are connected with a computer which is running the cusom-built software (pd/openframeworks). Six speakers are built inside the garden, running six separate sound channels, creating a special sonical atmosphere.

While we were experimenting with the installation, programming and playing around, a side project emerged: we've recorded some bits of audio made entirely live, without post processing. It is made with the sounds of the garden, and the sonic process is more perceivable than in the video. You can download these sounds in hq mp3s:
